Duties : Conduct quality and innovative research and publish in high-impact journals; teach and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and undertake administrative duties in course development, student activities, or programme management.
Requirements : A PhD in Linguistics or related disciplines with competence in undertaking teaching and research in Linguistics and Language Applications, particularly in interdisciplinary areas across subject fields, including but not limited to: brain studies, neuroscience, psychology, cognition, computing, big data, AI, mathematics, philosophy, history, terminology, translation, cognitive studies of translation, and human-machine interactive translation. Applicants in conventional linguistic subfields such as empirical or corpus linguistics, general linguistics, semantics, pragmatics, language acquisition and learning, pedagogical linguistics, sociolinguistics, phonetics and phonology are welcome. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong interest, training and publication record in interdisciplinary research or phonology. Applications for senior post at Associate Professor level or above are particularly welcome.
Excellent teaching and professional experience with international exposure and establishment, strong research and administrative ability, and a proven record of publications would be advantages.
